Key Arctos Partner Gregory Baecher Is Leaving KKR After Buyout

Published Sep 16, 2026
Share:
Summary:
  • Gregory Baecher, who helped steer Arctos's capital solutions and corporate strategic initiatives, is exiting KKR & Co., according to people familiar with the move.
  • After KKR bought Arctos for $1.4 billion earlier this year, he took a managing director role in the newly created KKR Solutions unit.
  • Lauren Hahn, who leads global private equity product strategy, will take over leadership of KKR Solutions' client‑facing team from Baecher while retaining her existing responsibilities.

What happened and who is taking over

Gregory Baecher is departing KKR, according to people with direct insight into the situation who requested anonymity because the details are private. A KKR representative declined to comment, and Baecher could not be reached. Lauren Hahn, a managing director overseeing global private‑equity product strategy, will assume leadership of KKR Solutions' client‑facing group in place of Baecher. She joined KKR in 2019 and will take on the responsibility in addition to her current role.

Baecher's role and background

At Arctos, Baecher oversaw the capital solutions group and helped drive corporate strategic initiatives. When KKR finalized the Arctos deal and stood up KKR Solutions earlier this year, he assumed a similar mandate there as a managing director. His LinkedIn profile indicates that after about two decades at Warburg Pincus, serving as a managing director, Baecher joined Arctos in 2024.

The deal and Arctos business

KKR closed its $1.4 billion acquisition of Arctos in May, months before Baecher's departure surfaced. The firm views the deal as a path to strengthen relationships with alternative asset managers and to establish a stronger presence in the fast‑growing arena of secondaries and capital solutions, offering tailored financing arrangements. Arctos, led by Chief Executive Officer Ian Charles, has invested in teams like the NBA's Golden State Warriors and the NFL's Buffalo Bills.

Its Keystone unit, the capital solutions business, raised its first fund at $6.2 billion in July. As of June 30, Arctos said it oversaw $20 billion in assets under management.
