Humain Seeks $2.5 Billion to Back Saudi Data Center Buildout

Published Sep 3, 2026
Share:
Summary:
  • Humain is lining up an initial $2.5 billion from international and local backers for a Saudi data center investment vehicle, according to people familiar.
  • The fund would support 250 megawatts of capacity that Humain is developing with Al Moammar Information Systems Co., with a path to scale to 1 gigawatt.
  • BSF Capital will manage the fund and plans to solicit investors once it obtains approval from the Capital Market Authority, a timeline estimated at two to three months; the financing mix will include both debt and equity.

What's being built

Humain is working on a fresh fundraise aimed at bankrolling data centers in Saudi Arabia, with people with knowledge saying the first tranche is $2.5 billion. The money is intended to finance 250 megawatts of capacity that Humain is building alongside Al Moammar Information Systems Co., and those plans could ultimately stretch to as much as 1 gigawatt as projects ramp.

Earlier this week, Chief Executive Officer Tareq Amin said a fund was in the works, though he did not disclose how large it would be.

Who runs it and when the pitch starts

Per the people, BSF Capital is set to run the vehicle. The Saudi investment bank will begin pitching to investors only after securing Capital Market Authority approval, a process expected to require two to three months. The funding stack is expected to combine both debt and equity.

Spokespeople for Humain, Al Moammar Information Systems and BSF Capital would not comment.

The broader AI push in the Gulf

This move fits a wider Saudi AI agenda led by Public Investment Fund-backed Humain, an effort that is minting billion-dollar fortunes, including for the two brothers who control Al Moammar Information Systems. Across the Gulf, energy-rich states are pouring billions into AI infrastructure and tech. According to Bloomberg News this week, Abu Dhabi-based G42 has engaged in preliminary discussions to raise billions of dollars.

Humain, founded in 2025, has been striking deals to build the compute and infrastructure needed for training and running AI models. That same year, it outlined a venture capital program of $10 billion to invest in startups globally.

Why it matters for your money

If Saudi data center buildouts hit these targets, that is more concrete capacity to power AI workloads. Translation: more demand for power, servers and connectivity, more long-term contracts for builders and operators, and a bigger gravitational pull for capital into physical infrastructure. For anyone watching where the AI economy is becoming real, these are the pipes and power that make everything else possible.
